How Much Hair Removal is “Too Bare”?
Deciding how much hair to laser will depend on personal preference, desired results, and practical considerations. Here are some factors to consider when making that decision:
What Area Your Wish to Have Treated
Determine which area you want to target for laser hair removal. Whether that includes the underarms, arms, legs, bikini line, back or chest. And, if choosing a Brazilian, decide how much you wish to keep.
How Thick (or fine) Your Hair Is
Consider the density of hair in the chosen areas. If you have thick, coarse hair, you may want to consider laser removal for a larger area. However, if the hair is sparse or fine, this may be something you wish to address with electrolysis*.
Skin Sensitivity
Some areas of the body are more sensitive than others, so you might want to take that into account when deciding how much hair to laser, and whether or not a Brazilian is right for you.
Time and Budget
Laser hair removal typically requires multiple sessions to achieve long-lasting results. Each session can take time and incur costs, so budgeting both accordingly is important.

Light based treatments target the melanin stored in newly waking hair follicles, heating it up so that the heat denatures the proteins that will go to make the hair strand. As the light doesn’t destroy the hair follicle, the brain doesn’t realise anything is wrong and leaves the follicle alone without stimulating replacement hairs. Over time and consistent treatments this leads to bare smooth skin, free of in-growns and shaving discolouration.
Light based treatments work best on darker hair, the light cannot target on blonde, grey, white or red hair, but you can still wax.
